Our Projects

Dinner in the Dark
Case for Sight's Dinner in the Dark is our annual event where participants engage themselves in a completely new experience of eating dinner. All participants will be blindfolded to promote greater understanding of visual impairment and blindness.
The Case for Sight executive board will invite a speaker to educate all who attend about issues or discoveries in ophthalmology. Last year we invited Dr. Faruk Orge of University Hospitals' Department of Ophthalmology to speak about surgeries in pediatric ophthalmology. We were able to donate $3600 to the Cleveland Sight Center's Highbrook Lodge, its camp for youth with disabilities such as visual impairment.
This year's speaker was Alicia Howerton and Tom Sawyer from the Cleveland Sight Center on the topic: “Independence-Enhancing Technology for People with Vision Loss”.
Join us at our next DITD to become more educated about sight to make a difference in our community!

Distinguished Lecture Series
Each spring, Case For Sight holds its annual distinguished lecture featuring a prominent individual in the field of vision health.
Last spring, we invited Donald L. Budenz from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He discussed his work in Ghana with glaucoma, the leading cause of irreversible eye blindness.
Get in touch with us to find out who our next DLS speaker is!

Himalayan Cataract Project
We have the potential to make a real and positive change in the global community. Throughout the year, Case for Sight promotes fundraising efforts for the Himalayan Cataract Project, which works to eradicate preventable and preventable blindness in the developing world.
